Go for Gold - A unique annual coaching regatta |
PORT PHILLIP BAY, VIC, AUSTRALIA-(20-10-2004) The annual Go For Gold Regatta will again be hosted by Black Rock Yacht Club on Port Phillip Bay from Friday to Sunday November 26-28. Victor Kovalenko and Yachting Australia’s High Performance Coaches will be attending.
Organised by Yachting Victoria as a unique 'coaching regatta', Go For Gold has become an institution. Established stars in the Olympic and other International Classes travel from around Australia to take part alongside the nation’s emerging talent sailing in recognised youth classes and Yachting Victoria’s adopted classes. The combined knowledge of the Australian, Victorian and Class Coaches who assemble for this event is unique and the format of the event allows coaches to move within the course area during racing.
Black Rock Yacht Club provides a great atmosphere for Go For Gold, with excellent sailing conditions and quality race management using two courses. The club boasts a number of World and Australian Champions, and has hosted the International 470 Worlds in 1999 and the International Contender Worlds in 2002. In January, Black Rock will conduct the International Moth 2005 World Championships as part of the Sail Melbourne International Regatta.
