Tornado World Championship  - All set for the 48 boats competing at the 2006 Tornado World Championship in San Isidro, Argentina.
BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA-(4-12-2006) 48 Tornados from 20 Nations have finished Registration and Measurement for the 2006 Tornado World Championship that is taking place at the Club Nautico San Isidro, San Isidro, Argentina.

The sailors can expect a high level of competition - nothing less than 13 Olympic Medalists and 10 World Champions are going to compete for the 2006 World title.

The event was officially opened yesterday during a special ceremony organized by the Club Nautico San Isidro that counted with over 300 people. The President of the ITA, Michael Grandfield, during his speech, and the sailors themselves, welcomed the public to visit the boatpark, see the fastest of the Olympic boats and meet all the sailors.

The Practice Race, scheduled for today, had good weather conditions: a sunny day with ENE 10-12 knots wind. The competitors are no strangers to the course: they warmed-up during the Argentineans and South Americans that happened during the last 2 weeks. ARG Santiago Lange and Carlos Espinola won the Argentineans and ESP Fernando Echavarri and Anton Paz, the South Americans.

It will be a tough fight for the World Trophy.

10 races are scheduled for the Regatta, 2 per day:

Tue 5 Dec - Races 1 & 2
Wed 6 Dec - Races 3 & 4
Thu 7 Dec - Races 5 & 6
Fri 8 Dec - Reserve Day
