Marblehead, MA - No rain, mainly clear skies, wind out of the northeast at 50-55 degrees, velocity 13-18 knots, sea still choppy. The fleet was greeted at the starting line by an armada of photo/video boats, helicopters taking aerial photos, planes taking aerial photos (and laying smoke contrails at the start of the first race), and spectator boats and planes. The Vineyard has discovered that Tornado racing on a clear, breezy day is the best show of the summer.

Amsterdam/Martha`s Vinyard - EDS Sailing Team with Mitch Booth and Herbert Dercksen from the Netherlands won the second race at the World Championship Tornado in America. Booth and Dercksen were running on top nearly during the whole race. The American team with Guck and Farrar pressed the EDS Sailing Team hard and ended up in second position. During the race, the windforce was between 10 and 15 knots.

The day began again with rain, but no thunderstorms and definitely plenty of wind. Prior to the harbor start, the Race Committee reported 19 knots with gusts as high as 24 knots. As the rain showers abated and the fleet headed out to the racing area, the NNE breeze moderated to 16 knots. Sea conditions were 2-3 feet and choppy.
