During the Easter weekend of 2004 (9 - 12 April) the Yacht club Braassemermeer and the OCN (Optimist Club Nederland) organised the 19th International Easter Optimist Regatta. This year 264 young sailors from 12 countries competed fiercely to win this prestigious event. Even 20 competitors from the United States of America were there to race! |

Roelofarendsveen, The Netherlands - On Sunday, the 264 young competitors had 2 races to sail. It was cloudy but there were also some sunny spells. Wind started from Northerly directions, mostly 4 – 8 knots, but tended to shift to the West. |

Roelofarendsveen, The Netherlands - Saturday started with drizzle and light winds from Westerly directions. The first two fleets got away nicely but just before the first start of the third fleet the wind shifted to the North, so this start was postponed. |
