| MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA-(24-12-2002) The Australian Offshore Championship is shaping up to be the best ever, with many of Australia's top yachts descending on Port Phillip Bay.
Hosted by the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria, the regatta runs from 16 – 23 January 2003. Entries close on 27 December, however late entries are welcomed after this date if accompanied by a $200 late fee.
The waters of Port Phillip Bay are well known for providing perfect sailing conditions for highly competitive racing. The short races will be held on Hobsons Bay, whilst the Long Race will be held on Port Phillip.
The regatta invites yachts to race under IMS, IRC, PHS and AMS divisions. Entries are already high, but expected to increase as the regatta date nears.
The Opening/Welcome Ceremony will be held at the RYCV on Friday 17th January
