Ben, Finn Class European and World Champion, will compete in the Trofeo Princesa Sofia in this class. The Dragon class World champion Harm Muller-Spreer will also participate in the event.

The 34th Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofia-Madrid 2012 will also have the participation, among many other sailors, of Sydney silver medallists Amelie Lux (Mistral women, Germany), Darren Bundock (Tornado, Australia) and Paul Forester (470 men, USA).

The whole Spanish Pre-Olympic Sailing team has entered the regatta which will be a selection event for the 2004 pre-Olympic national teams.
