PORTO ALEGRE, BRAZIL-(27-1-2004) The day was for Brazilians on the Soling Worlds at Veleiros do Sul. The crew from Rio de Janeiro with Renato Cunha Faria, Ricardo Ermel and Eduardo Cunha Faria won the third race this Tuesday on Guaíba Lake. The Argentineans Gustavo Warburg, Hernan Celedoni and Maxino Smith arrived on the second and still leading the championship.
Right after are a Brazilian crew with Ernesto Neugebauer, Luiz Henrique Passow and Lucas Ostergen from Veleiros do Sul. “We had a very nice started and we had sailing well in all the legs only at the last windward the wind changed its direction and we ended in 4th” said the helmsman Neugebauer, the Snipe world champion in 1978.
The Soling World is equilibrated between its first five rank.
The race starts at 14:05pm with south wind with 21 km/h. The crew from Rio de Janeiro took the first place since the beginning. The Soling Worlds’ continues on Wednesday at 14pm.
