Yacht Race, the bigger boats look like collecting the handicap trophies.
In the lighter conditions, Syd Fischer's Farr 50 Ragamuffin looks like once
again taking home the IMS Overall trophy from Bob Steel's Nelson/Marek 43
Quest and Terry Mullen's Farr 50 Fitness First Sting.
These three boats often place first, second and third in varying order
because they are built to the IMS handicap and the conditions in this race
were made to order.
Veteran yachtsman Syd Fischer plans to now modify his 1995-built champion,
with a new mast amongst the changes.
Andrew Cochrane's Stewart 34 Pendragon has slipped well back into 12th place
on IMS overall handicap after leading this division since the start on
Sydney Harbour on Saturday afternoon.
The 66-foot line honours winner Grundig (Sean Langman) is set to ruin a
Queensland win in IRC division with Bill Wild's Mumm 36 Corum currently
placed second and Ludde Ingvall's 80-footer Luna Park Sydney in third.
Geoff Hill's Lyons 49 Strewth has moved into first place in PHS Overall
results ahead of Geoff Lavis' Inglis 50 UBS Wild Thing and Tony Williams'
Balmain Experience.
Places haven't changed in the One Design division with South Australian
yachtsman Geoff Boettcher still leading with his chartered Sydney 38 Eye
Candy. Graham Gibson's Hidden Agenda is still in second and Gordon
Ketelbey's Wadadli is in third.
Forty-two yachts have now finished with another 23 due in overnight, six due
shortly.
