SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA-(14-12-2004) Several of the international contingent for this year’s Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race have arrived at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia in Sydney, including German boat Vineta and UK competitor Aera.
Representatives from three of the international boats will be available tomorrow at 9.00am for interviews the Rolex Media Centre at the CYCA.
Aera – UK
Jez Fanstone - Fastnet and round the world sailor, Jez has competed in three Rolex Sydney Hobart races. Aera was the second best boat in last year’s Admiral’s Cup and considered a leading prospect for an Overall handicap win in the Rolex Sydney Hobart.
Vineta – Germany
Felix Scheder-Bieschin – prominent German sailor Felix is the owner and skipper of Vineta, also considered a strong contender for overall winner of this years Rolex Sydney Hobart. This is a new boat and will complete in this week’s Rolex Trophy.
the active factor – South African
Brett Perry – skipper of this South African boat from the Royal Capetown Yacht Club. Brett is an Australian who will skipper the international crew.
