Richard Perini wins on day three of the Farr 40 Alfa Romeo Twilights

Alfa Romeo Farr 40 Twilight Regatta  - Richard Perini wins on day three of the Farr 40 Alfa Romeo Twilights
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA-(25-2-2004) Visibility was limited at various stages of the Alfa Romeo Farr 40 Twilight series with rainsqualls bringing gusts over 30 knots from the east, keeping everyone on their toes as they approached marks during the race.

Current series leader Steve Ellis's Buon Giorno finished third over the line after a testing race for all crews. Richard Perini's Corinthian Doors manoeuvred from mid fleet to the lead when they rounded the top mark for the second time. Perini maintained his lead to finish six seconds ahead of Matt Allen steering Kokomo.

Unfortunately Dick Voorderhake who was in a comfortable lead after a great start had the headsail wrap around the forestay at the first bottom mark rounding and they were forced to drop and re-hoist the sail down the track. Tony Walls steering Acuity had an individual recall when they overshot the start and this unfortunately put them at a disadvantage for the race.

Rob Skinner's Weapon has sailed a consistent series to be placed in fourth after three days of racing. Dennis McDonald has sailed well to maintain a top five position after a close second on day one.

The final day of racing in the Alfa Romeo Twilights will be raced tomorrow evening with the next regatta in the Farr 40 season, the Joico regatta being held at Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club at Pittwater on March 6th and 7th.
