Superb racing at the 29er Worlds and 49er Europeans in Laredo.

49er European Championship and 29er Worlds - Superb racing at the 29er Worlds and 49er Europeans in Laredo.
LAREDO, SPAIN-(17-7-2003) Following some cloudy, rainy days, the 29ers could not expect to have such a sunny day with excellent wind conditions on their day of final series. North-eastern winds, 12-14 knots have been blowing since the first warning signal and are providing competitors with exciting sailing.

The 29er Gold fleet has sailed three final races and the silver fleet have been able to complete 1 before 16.00 hours, the time limit established in the Sailing Instructions. The prize giving ceremony will be held at 20.00 hours in RCN Laredo.

Great Britain has become the 2003 29er Class World Champion, represented by GBR 933 David Evans/Rick Peacock, followed by Argentinian team ARG 15 Pepe Bettini/Federico Villambrosa in second place and third place overall has been again for Great Britain, GBR 30 Thomas Smedley/Stevie Wilson.
