Aruba Heineken Catamaran Regatta 2002 - Aruba Heineken Catamaran Regatta sees perfect conditions at 3rd day`s racing |
ARUBA, NETHERLANDS ANTILLES-(12-11-2002) The third day on the 12th Annual Aruba Heineken Catamaran Regatta in Palm Beach Aruba. More than 40 boats, mostly from Holland and England but also from South America and the Caribbean have come together for the yearly sailing event.
Aruba’s year-round warm weather, along with it’s tranquil waters and gentle trade winds, provide the ultimate setting for this annual catamaran competition. After three days racing Xander Pols and Mark Zwart (NED) are leading with their Tornado followed by Rob Klootwijk and Arie van de Plas (NED). On a third place John Moret and Nico Harrewijn (NED).
Xander: ‘A perfect but heavy race today. We were going very fast in the long reaches with wind up to 30 knots’
