CRES, CROATIA-(15-9-2004) Third competition day of VIP IMS 600 World Championships ended early in the morning at 3 a.m. After first two races member of Sailing Club of Rijeka Darko Hajdinjak, holds excellent third place. In the first race to Rovinj, with corrected time winner was boat Igienstudio Shaula (Roberto Faraese). First favorite Matteo Ivaldi aboard (MAN) was victorius in second race(Cres – Rovinj – Cres).
In boath races Darko Hajdinjak was excellent third. “We very pleased, it could not be better” - told us clearly exhausted Rajko Kujundzic, Karuba’s tactician emerging first in the Press Center.
Weather conditions were perfect. South wind of 10-12knots to Rovinj, later increasing to 16 knots. After turn at islet St. Catherine to Brioni boats had a wind of 26 knots seafaring with the speed of 10 knots. Right after boats left Brioni, “fresh storm” from Italy briefly showered regatta for 15 minutes. First three skippers reached Cres between 3 a.m. – 4 a.m. acquiring virtualy calm morning in the Marina, with everyobdy awaiting tonight’s truffle party.
There are two windward/leeward races planned for tomorrow, and VIP sailor’s party at night.
