Intercall Ausmaid - Sydney Mooloolaba Race - Intercall Ausmaid over the finish and having a few quiet drinks to celebrate. |
MOOLOOLABA, AUSTRALIA-(11-4-2003) Intercall Ausmaid spent a quieter second night at sea in the FKP Ltd Sydney Mooloolaba Race sailing in a 12-knot breeze that has swung to the SE. `We have stayed out to try and be the first to get the breeze,` said Alan Quick owner of the boat as he prepared the dinner of a casserole for the crew last night. ` We are very pleased with our position and how the boat is performing` as they sailed past Wooli 40 miles north of Coffs Harbour late yesterday.
` Fitness First Sting is about 12miles behind us and Quest about 16 miles, both in shore, with the leaders 40 miles north of us and sailing into lighter breezes for the night said Alan after mentioning the crew rations of wagon wheels and lollies had been demolished. At this stage of the race Eureka II was inshore and behind Intercall Ausmaid who was holding a strong position in the IMS division of the race.
As the sun rose on day 3 of the race Intercall Ausmaid was placed 8th on line honours and 4th in the IMS division and 13th in the IRC division with 112 miles to the finish line and expected to finish at approx. 8:30pm today. They are currently ahead of Quest and Fitness First Sting in both divisional and line honour results.
