| PALMA DE MALLORCA, SPAIN-(7-8-2005) The potential winners confirmed their place in the last day of the Copa del Rey – Agua Brava, where the 215 wind of an intensity of 10 knots was again the protagonist.
From the beginning in TP 52 class, the whole fleet fought to do their best in the last day. Whereas Movistar and Lexus sailed forgetting the rest of the fleet, Atalanti and Caixa Galicia tried to give a surprise. On arriving in the first buoy it seemed that the Copa del Rey – Agua Brava was in Movistar´s hands, but in the last wind´s eye and haul, Lexus of Russell Coutts made up for positions whereas Movistar lost them.
Due to this, the winner was unclear until the last meters of the arrival, offering one of the most exciting editions of the Copa del Rey – Agua Brava. Finally, the classification has been: Lexus Quantum winner with 66 points, followed by Atalanti XV with 65 points, in third place Movistar with 64 points, fourth Caixa Galicia with 64 points and fifth Orlanda Olympus with 59 points. On the other hand, it is relevant to highlight Bribón´s victory in the Corinthian division for non professionals.
In IMS 500 class CAM was the brilliant winner, sailing very motivated and concentrated. In the last test, in order to clear possible doubts, CAM won again, so it has a total of 5 first positions in this Copa del Rey – Agua Brava. Following CAM, Azur de Puig got second position of the general classification due to its regularity during the regatta, although it could not impede CAM´s victory. The third position was for Maserati Viña Mar with a Chilean crew and Rodrigo Zuazola as sailing master. The fourth and fifth positions were for Tau Cerámica and Codorníu respectively.
In IMS 600 class, Movistar of Lorenzo Bressani did not allow Forum Filatélico of Gonzalo Araujo to snatch the final victory, in spite of Forum winning the last regatta. Finally, only 2.5 points separated the mentioned boats. Therefore, Movistar won in this class, followed by Forum Filatélico in second place. Behind them, Andalucía Te Quiere of Rafael Díaz, after carrying out a very good Copa del Rey – Agua Brava classified third, followed by the regular Ono of Iñaki Castañer and, in fifth position Fermax of Daniel Maestre.
Since yesterday, IMS 670 class had a virtual winner which had an advantage of 25 points: Quum Sevilla. Once again, in order to show its supremacy, the boat of Sergio Llorca won the ninth test, reaching his second consecutive victory in the Copa del Rey – Agua Brava. Movistar with 39 points got the second position, followed by Mutua Madrileña – Diversidad in third position, Card & Oil, fourth and Velux, fifth.
